Being an art geek, one of the things I looked forward to doing in San Francisco was checking out its many museums and galleries. Unfortunately, I only got to squeeze in one: the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park. But more than the cool galleries and art museums that call San Fran home, the city is one vibrant collection of street art—from art installations and sculptures, to murals and graffiti—which I am quite happy I got to see a lot of during my aimless walks. Here are some of my favorites:
Spotted this in the financial district:
Loved this building:
Spotted these really detailed ones while walking in the Civic Center area at night:
These were all on the same alley:
These, on the way to the Marina:
Some I had to look up to see:
There are still loads left undiscovered in the city—some I saw while on the Muni or while driving around. I swear, I could spend all day just walking around San Francisco to check out the art on the streets. It is definitely one of the most vibrant cities I’ve been to. <3
