I’ve posted countless photos of my El Nido trip in 2010, but this one taken using my Macbook’s built-in camera is my favorite because it was taken during a moment of utmost calm. Every time I look at this particular photo, I remember that day as clearly as if it were just yesterday.
It was the second day of my mini-vacation and I had woken up at 5:30 in the morning to finish an article that I needed to send to my editor in two days. I didn’t want to worry about my deadline anymore so I decided to send it ahead of time so I can really enjoy my holiday.
This was the view that greeted me when I went to work by the pool. :)
I rarely wake up early, but I’m glad I did that day. I think I was the first to wake among the guests, and save for a few members of the staff (and the giant monitor lizard walking lazily by the beach), I had the resort all to myself. With my mind already wide awake, I managed to finish my article in less than an hour. The rest of the morning I spent enjoying much-needed space-out time. :D
I don’t know if I will ever find myself in this piece of paradise again, but if I do, I should be so lucky. :)
