After seeing myself actually scratching off one item after another in my 30 Before 30 project, I’ve decided to make this whole bucket list business a yearly thing.
I thought of coming up with a 35 Before 35 list—bigger goals I want to achieve in five years’ time—but while I have a lot of ideas about the items I want included, I haven’t had time to actually commit them to paper. Giving myself more time to think about it, but off the top of my head, here are some of my “undeclared” plans:
- Visit all ASEAN countries—because I really should; I belong in this side of the world, after all. Already crossed off the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore and Malaysia. Only five more countries: Laos, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam and Myanmar (which I am seeing this weekend YAY!).
- Visit at least five of the seven continents—two down, three more to go. Better if I hit all seven—may I win the lottery the soon (or score some really fantastic writing assignments!).
- Go on an African Safari.
- Live and work outside the country.
- Bungee jump.
- Sky dive.
- Round the world trip. (Again, may I win the lottery soon.)
- Run a marathon.
I’ve more ideas swimming in my head, but I guess best to focus on the ones I can do this year first.
For 2014, I don’t really have a “strict” bucket list.
I’ve decided I’m taking it easy and leaving a lot of this year’s travels to fate.
The two things I’m quite keen on, however, is that 1) I hit one destination a month—could be local or international; could be a long trip or a brief weekend getaway; and 2) I conquer Mt. Apo, the Philippines’ highest peak—I can already see myself watching the sunrise and sunset on its summit. Will it be better than Mt. Pulag? It’ll definitely be a longer, more arduous trek—my Davao friends tell me it takes a total of three days for a beginner to make the climb and come back down—so I better start training soon. Wish me luck :D

This is a great list. #3 (African Safari) is high on the boyfriend’s list too. He says that’s the only other place he still really wants to go in the world (except maybe Antarctica lol). We’ve had friends who have done it and they say it was the most amazing trip of their entire lives. I know you’ll make it there sometime soon!

Funnily enough, I want to go to Antarctica too! LOL. I’ve been seeing a lot of travel articles on the white continent lately, and the photos are amazing. I’m just not sure if I can handle the cold. :P

Hi there,
I actually use WordPress too, and have been encountering the same problems. This particular entry has had a number of spam comments actually.
I used Weebly before I switched to WordPress, but I find it lacks a lot of the functions I need. Used Tumblr before, too, but I like WordPress’ blogging community better.
